The Android File Transfer app on Mac, which is pretty much the only free program that allows file access from Mac OS to Android, would just say "could not connect to device". The culprit (for me anyway) is that S21 comes pre-installed with Samsung Smart Switch, an app that helps to transfer content from old devices (presumably the ones being replaced). That app is not compatible with Android File Transfer, which seems to be blocked by the app. Uninstall it, all will be merry again!
